YPT Follow Up meeting - May 17th

Attendance: robert Daniels II, Emily Gamber, Kelly Quain, Peter Christine (notetaker)

The minutes from the meeting following the YPT were approved. 

We discussed following up on suggestions made at that meeting.

-Monthly Discussion Meetings:

Every First Sunday at Noon ASAP will meet at either the Wildflower Cafe or Deja Brew (depending on availability; Kelly has a connection to Wildflower and will investigate this) to discuss a pre-decided topic. Throughout the month related actions/activities might take place (protests, letter writing, field trips or speakers, etc.). A small period of time after the discussion can be reserved for planning the next discussions and other activities.

Tentative Schedule:

June 7th: Israel/Palestine; Emily facilitating

July 5th: Counter Recruiting; Kelly Facilitating

August 2nd The War in Iraq and/or the War in Afghanistan; Peter facilitating

Other potential topics: Global Warming, the Economic Crisis, Clean water/resource conflict, Watersheds.

-Environmental Cleanup:

Peter will investigate helping CAT with a Love Your Local Trail clean up.

-Another Movie Night:

Emily suggests a film about Burma, although she wasn’t sure of the title.

There has been some interest expressed by the high school Quakers about making a counter recruitment movie.
