Here's what we came up with at the June 3rd Meeting!

“Building the Ideal School”

            -Need someone to make fliers

            -Potential date: October 18^th @ Meeting House 9-4ish

            -What you will learn: how things work, what your role is and how you can change things, you will be inspired!

            -Possible speakers(sorry if I butcher any names): Karen Dolan, Steve Samuelson, Willie Renolyds, someone from CUNA

*Karen Dolan is our first choice; would speak about local government and organizing

            -Don’t want to set many limitations

            -What we will be doing: 

*break up into about 3 groups to brainstorm ideas for what your ideal school would be like(using big paper!)

                        *break into assigned roles (teacher, parent, student)

                        *someone will be the “banker”- tells you how much things will cost (possibly Peter Crownfield or a student)

                        *conflict with coca-cola

                        *present ideas to “school board”

-Approximate Time Schedule:

                        9-9:20 – Registration

                        9:20 – Intro

                        9:45 - Brainstorm

                        10:45- Role Play exercise

                        11:15 – Small Group planning

                        12 – Lunch

                        12:30 – Speaker

                        1:30 – School Board Meeting

                        3 – Wrap-up

Our next meeting will be held at Nawab Indian Restaurant (13 East 4th Street) in south Bethlehem on Thursday June 12^th at 12 noon.  Bring $10 dollars for the lunch buffet.  Hope to see you there!
